Our Alumni Program Mission
The Eagle Academy Public Charter School Alumni Program seeks to reach, engage and serve all Eagle Academy alumni to foster a lifelong intellectual and emotional connection between Eagle Academy and its graduates, and to provide Eagle Academy with goodwill and support.
Founded in 2015 by the late Cassandra S. Pinkney, co-founder of Eagle Academy Public Charter School, the Eagle Academy Alumni Program is the first alumni program for students graduating from an early childhood education program in Washington, D.C. In 2017, the Alumni Program became one of the first projects of the newly founded Cassandra S. Pinkney Foundation.
The Cassandra S. Pinkney Foundation exists to support Eagle Academy Public Charter School and make possible its commitment to providing a high-quality education to every child. We do this by investing in STEAM, technology, and SPED; supporting efforts to care for the “whole child”; giving back to the community; and exposing Eagle students to the possibilities of their future. Our goal is to help expand the horizons of Eagle students by giving them access to opportunities normally outside of their reach.
- To develop a comprehensive database of all 3rd grade graduates, starting in 2010.
- To develop a comprehensive data collection and tracking system.
- To provide scholarships through the Cassandra S. Pinkney Foundation to support students continued education.
- To develop a volunteer and engagement program for alumni to support Eagle Academy’s educational programs and students.
