Where are they Now? Eagle's First 3rd Grade Graduating Class '11
By: Ms. Charnita Newburn
Mrs. Tucker and former kindergarten and first grade lead teacher have kept in touch with the first third grade graduating class of Eagle Academy since graduation in 2011.
This past summer (2017) Ms. Newburn and Mrs. Tucker had lunch with some of our 2011 alumni students and their parents. They are all now in the 9th grade. Over lunch, they discussed how each student is well on their way to High School and what to expect. All of them are Honor Roll students! Some of the high schools they attend or plan to attend are Banneker, Roosevelt, DeMatha, Duke Ellington, and McKinley Tech Sr. High.
T’Mia Vines-Raynor, parent of Kenney Vines-Stoddard says that Eagle helped make her child more confident in her social skills and this has helped her tremendously with her academics. Doniece Leak, parent of Hashim Pendergast says that Eagle gave him a good foundation and good work ethics that he has taken with him to middle and high school. Hashim attends Banneker Senior High School. The first third grade graduation class are as follows: Shellee Brevard, Saddique Stevens, Selah Hart, Xavier Davis, Kayla Mason, Kendal Ward, Kennedy Vines-Stoddard, Hashim Pendergast, and Amuzu LaFirme.
